Click here to go to Jeffhead's site on this and other aircraft carriers/amphibious assault ships. About the same size as the Australian ship but carries more aircraft.  According to articles I've read it carries vehicles and around 500 troops.  I haven't seen the ramp to allow roll on roll off of vehicles but if it isn't at a crazy angle (which it shouldn't be) and if they get AAVs, they should be able to launch them (recovery might be an issue....I'll have to check).

Long story short.  The Japanese just developed a pretty nice sea control ship with a minor amphibious assault capability.  That will be the next issue.  If they want it to flex into the LHD role then they'll need to get an effective troop carrying helicopter.

It'll be good to watch a Navy put its ship into service without its leadership hoping that the sailors that use it figure out how things need to be done or what roles it can fulfill (direct hit at Greenert and the LCS).

  1. Some web-security programs seem to consider Jeffhead's site to contain malicious code.

    Proceed with caution.

Better yet, have Jeff 'fumigate' his joint...

    1. that is an outright lie. I use the latest in software and have never seen a warning about his site, never had my computer infected etc.

why you feel a need to spread such lies is beyond me.....

    2. I'm sorry but what part is he lying about?

All he said was that some security programs are reporting problems with that site. Which if you spend a few minutes doing a quick online check against that website shows that indeed a few are reporting problems with that site. Now as the majority give that site a clean bill of health, then it is likely that they are false positives, but that doesn't mean TwentyTwenty lied at all.

    3. i did jackass. i'll take a few barbs thrown my way but i'll be damned if you get away with an attack against a website that i link to that provides good information and IS NOT filled with malicious codes. you bastards seriously annoy me. not because you have anything worthwhile but because you throw rocks from the cheap seats and think that your opinion is worthy of consideration. it isn't so get back in your fucking corner and shut the fuck up.

    4. On this machine, alarms went off.
      And that is all!

Could be a temporary infection, a false positive, or a serious matter. 'Shuss happens'. Which private site could claim utter immunity from such ?!

      Hence the word 'caution'.

      No 'drive-by' intended or executed...

    5. it went beyond caution. you said he needs to fumigate his website.

this apology is bullshit. a driveby was intended and carried out. you're called on it. its over. move on.

    6. Well I actually wasn't attacking any site at all. All I was doing is pointing out that a very few security programs and online checkers are reporting problem with that site. Now as the vast majority report no problem, I would think it was almost certain that they are false positives.

Now if I was running that website, then I would actually want to know about those false reports so I could contact those companies and get them to fix their programs and remove the false reports about my site.

So that is all I was pointing out. No attack meant.

The only thing I can read in either my posts or TwentyTwenty's that could come across as a 'attack' is TwentyTwenty's comment about having ' have Jeff 'fumigate' his joint..'. Which when I consider that the reports are most likely false, there isn't anything Jeff can do, other than contact the companies involved if he wants those reports stopped.

Now I hope that you don't reply back, just to call me some more names as I really aren't attacking yourself or Jeff's site. In my opinion all these reports say is that some security programs need tweaking a bit so that they aren't giving these warnings. I don't see it in any way as any kind of slur on Jeff's site as a lot of really popular sites get these false positive warnings from time to time. Most security companies have a webpage where the owner of a site that is giving false positives can be report them and then they can be looked into.

    7. your latest comment is what i hate most about today's society. you talk shit but wrap it up in lace and expect that because you're being "civil" that it won't result you being called a sorry son of a bitch.

sorry. i'm to the point of rejecting social norms as they're practiced today.

you came on my website and talked shit about a site that i linked to. like i said. talk shit about me, and i'll ignore you or if you really start pissing me off i'll delete the comment.

but when you talk shit about a site that i link to then you've gone a step too far. you're saying that i'm sending the people that come here to dangerous sites that could infect their computers or worse steal their info.

      i can't let that stand.

  2. the Hyuga has been eye warily considering it was a "destroyer in name only". Only two of the class were built.

Now comes the 22DDH/Kaga-class, which has 30% more tonnage.

What is the next Japanese destroyer's tonnage going to be? If it is 30%, it will be 35000 tons. That's Clemenceau-class size.

    1. You reckon that the old pejorative 'rice-burner' would now count as bio-diesel propulsion ?
